The RSS Feed / Widget Route
Active911 includes a built-in feature to publish recent alarm data via a custom RSS feed or a web widget.
- Log in to your Active911 Portal.
- Go to the Agency page and scroll to Options.
- Turn on Enable news feeds and RSS?
- Copy your unique Newsfeed CODE or RSS URL provided beneath your agency details.
- Send us your Newsfeed CODE or RSS URL
To block addresses in an Active911 RSS feed, you must adjust the show_alarm_addresses parameter to false within the publishing settings. This hides address information from the feed, ensuring only general alert data is visible. - Access Publishing Settings: Log in to your Active911 account and navigate to the "Publishing your alarms RSS and web widgets" section.
- Configure Parameters: Set 'show_alarm_addresses' to false to completely hide the address.
- Additional Privacy Options:
- Hide Street Numbers: Set 'abbreviate_addresses' to true to show only the street name, not the specific number.
- Generic Titles: Set 'show_alarm_titles' to false to replace specific incident locations with generic titles.
